Discussion Question:

 

Select a well-know US-based service company which has expanded its operations internationally.  Classify the firm’s primary strategy as either 1) Global, 2) Transnational, or 3) Multidomestic and justify your classification.  Assess the effectiveness of its international expansion effort.

 

Instructions:

For primary strategy classification, refer to Generic International Strategies in the book on pages 352 and 353.  For assessment of effectiveness, refer to Planning Transnational Operations on pages 354 through 357, including Table 14.1.
