For example “Mrs. Loisel was a poor lady and she didn’t dress well she was a unhappy as she had gone through bankruptcy, for woman have neither rank nor race” (paragraph 1) She isn’t the only person that is poor and unhappy there is a lot of in the world that is poor and don’t have a lot of money to buy dresses and she can’t achieve the money she wants to buy the things she wants. Her husband was a very kind man and he wanted to please her but it was impossible. In the necklace, Guy de Maupassant illustrate the theme of greed is destructive by using characterization and imagery. The destructiveness of the story was Mathilde deceitful behavior and caused her to work ten years.
